Schlotzsky's Announces 1Q Earnings

Schlotzsky’s Inc. (Nasdaq:BUNZ) today announced
details for the release of its results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2001.

Schlotzsky’s plans to issue the release on Tuesday, May 8, 2001, before the market opens. The company will host
a follow-up conference call to discuss the first quarter financial results and Company’s outlook at 9:30 a.m. (Central
Time).

The company will provide a simultaneous Internet webcast of the call for all interested parties, which can be
accessed through its Web site at www.cooldeli.com, under investor relations. Listeners are encouraged to log-on
five to 10 minutes prior to the start time to ensure participation from the beginning. The webcast will also be
archived on the Company’s Web site.
