Schlotzsky’s Inc. is formally introducing the “Albuquerque Turkey,” a spicy new sandwich with fire-roasted flavor, today in the city of Albuquerque, New Mexico, whose culinary traditions inspired the delicious combination of smoked turkey, fire-roasted vegetables, hot bacon, melted cheese, and savory chipotle sauce on fresh-baked sourdough bread.

And how does Albuquerque feel about having a sandwich named after the city? Delighted.

“We share two of the hardest names to spell—’Albuquerque’ and ‘Schlotzsky’s,’ not to mention ‘chipotle’—so we’re especially delighted that Schlotzsky’s Deli has chosen to combine them for this tasty tribute to our city,” said Albuquerque Mayor Martin Chavez.

The “Albuquerque Turkey” sandwich will be the centerpiece of a new national network television advertising campaign that celebrates the limited-time-offer sandwich with new original music and animated performances, airing March 4–31.

“We love the city of Albuquerque and felt it was the perfect name for this all-new Southwestern-inspired recipe on our signature sourdough bread,” said John Wooley, CEO and president of Schlotzsky’s, Inc. “We anticipate enthusiastic customer response to this incredibly flavorful sandwich.”
