Smiling Moose Debuts in Boulder

With the move of its corporate offices to Boulder, Colorado, in 2010, it was only a matter of time before the Smiling Moose Deli opened a location just around the corner, at Twenty Nineth Street, Boulder’s newest and hottest shopping center. The new restaurant opened Friday, June 3rd.

“Smiling Moose Deli is a perfect fit for Boulder; not only are we locally owned, but our made-to-order breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu is exactly the kind of healthy choice people in this area crave and demand,” says David Boschert, store owner. “We’ve got a Colorado-style flavor that locals will appreciate, along with prices that will make even the budget-minded college student happy.”

The Smiling Moose Deli counts the Boulder location among its 22 open or soon-to-be open restaurants. All new Smiling Moose Deli restaurants are modeled after its flagship LoDo location. With experience and appreciation for keeping customers ‘super’ happy, the Moose has found something for everyone. The addition of fresh espresso drinks and build-your-own salads, along with its signature sandwiches, wraps, salads, and soups makes the new model a satisfying success.

President Kevin Sloane also attributes the success of Smiling Moose Deli to how seriously it takes connecting to customers and how that starts with the store’s environment.

“We have infused a lighthearted informality that creates a fun atmosphere,” Sloane says. “We don’t want to ever take ourselves too seriously. After all, our stores are very busy and it’s a demanding job; a little humor and fun goes a long way!”

Smiling Moose Deli has recently developed mobile ordering apps for the iphone and the Android, ultimately eliminating any wait time for a top-notch breakfast, lunch, or dinner. In addition, catering has become a big part of each location and offers yet another option for customers.

Smiling Moose Deli’s latest grand opening in Midland, Texas, on May 21, 2011, set franchise records for best opening day sales. And the Moose is just getting started, with more locations opening in Bozeman, Montana; Evansville, Indiana; Gillette, Wyoming; and Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas.
