Soft-Serve Gelato to Hit Frozen Yogurt Market in 2012

Yogurtiamo, the premier liquid frozen yogurt manufacturer, has announced its 2012 plans, which include an innovative line of soft-serve gelato and sorbet.

The company will be expanding their yogurt flavors to include new flavors such as Crème Brulee and Peach Cobbler, and will feature popular gelato flavors such as Tiramisu, Pistachio, and Panna Cotta; sorbet flavors include Lemonade, Blood Orange, and Mojito.

The new products, available in February, will be a first for the frozen yogurt industry, and provides a new option to customers.

“We see a need for differentiation in the frozen yogurt market, and adding gelato to the line is a natural evolution that will allow the market continued growth,” says Alana Allen, Yogurtiamo division manager.

“Gelato and sorbet is a natural part of who we are as a company.”

Yogurtiamo is the frozen yogurt division of G.S. Gelato & Desserts, who manufactures authentic Italian gelato and sorbet.

The company was started when a young, stubborn couple moved from Italy in 1996, with dreams of bringing authentic gelato to America.

They currently distribute nationwide in retail and foodservice.

Although a few companies have developed sorbets throughout the years, this will be the first line of gelato available for use in commercial frozen yogurt equipment.

Following Yogurtiamo’s mission to produce all natural, artisan, ready-to-pour yogurt, the gelato will be made with only the freshest, quality ingredients and provide another healthy dessert option for frozen yogurt fans.
