SONIC Drive-In continues to expand across the U.S. by opening its first store in North Dakota. Located in north central North Dakota, the SONIC Drive-In in Minot is now open for business.

Our entry into North Dakota – our 44th state – is a significant milestone for SONIC, and we’re optimistic our development momentum will take us into all 50 states and beyond in the next few years,” says Bob Franke, senior vice president of franchise sales and international development for SONIC.

Conveniently located at 1601 35th Ave., the new Minot SONIC serves guests in the traditional drive-in fashion with multiple drive-in stalls, allowing guests to order and eat at their own pace. Guests can also order through a drive-thru. Additionally, this new SONIC prototype offers both indoor and outdoor seating to accommodate the varied climate in North Dakota.

SONIC started in Oklahoma, where weather is rarely a deterrent to eating at a drive-in,” Franke says. “However, with locations up north, we had to think creatively about how to develop a location that works with inclement weather while still matching the iconic SONIC Drive-In look. The result is a new SONIC Drive-In prototype that gives our guests many options during their visit that won’t be disrupted by a little snow. The new Minot location is a great example of this prototype.”

The drive-in offers guests a full menu available all day, featuring favorites like a breakfast burrito to start their morning or a shake made with Real Ice Cream to satisfy a late-night craving. SONIC serves a variety of made-to-order menu items allowing customers to personalize their meals and create their very own version of the perfect SONIC combination.

As an experienced restaurateur, I know that SONIC’s menu offerings and drink combinations will be welcomed and appreciated in the Minot community,” says Abe Sakak, owner and operator of RZA Venture, LLC, a SONIC franchisee. “SONIC has a lot to offer Minot residents in both warm and cold weather, and we look forward to serving our community a unique SONIC experience.”
