Celebrate soup with Pollo Tropical on Wednesday, Jan. 18, as the popular restaurant chain offers a cup of either its Caribbean Chicken Soup or Split Pea Soup for just $1 all day. This is the second year Pollo Tropical has celebrated the special holiday. 

No coupon or additional purchase is necessary; all customers have to do is say “Happy Soup Day” to the cashier. Since this is one hot offer, there is a limit of two $1 cups of soup per customer. The offer is only valid on Wednesday, Jan. 18.

The Pollo Tropical Caribbean Chicken Soup is a hearty soup featuring tender pieces of chicken breast, corn, yuca, plantains, and pumpkin. The Split Pea Soupis a Pollo Tropical original recipe, featuring green split peas, chorizo (a Spanish sausage), ham, potatoes, and Caribbean seasonings.

"Winter is the best time to enjoy our popular Caribbean Chicken Soup, and this is our way of rewarding our loyal customers and introducing ourselves to new fans,” says Kim Miller, vice president of marketing and communications at Pollo Tropical. 

The history of soup dates back as far as 6000 B.C. Soup got its name from “sop,” which was a piece of bread served with broth. Later, the focal point switched from the bread to the ingredients in the actual soup.

The offer is in recognition of National Soup Month, and is good at all company-owned restaurants in the U.S., while supplies last.
