St. Louis Burger Kings Join the Hunger Fight

Liberty Restaurant Group (LRG) announced its participation in Share Our Strength's Great American Dine Out, a weeklong national restaurant event in cities across the U.S. From September 19–25, thousands of restaurants, including LRG with its 23 Burger King locations in the St. Louis metropolitan area, will join together in raising funds to support No Kid Hungry, Share Our Strength's national campaign to end childhood hunger in America by 2015.

Last year, nearly 4,000 restaurants of every size and type helped the Great American Dine Out raise nearly $800,000 by donating a portion of the week's sales, offering special promotions, or collecting donations from their customers. One of the most successful promotions that will be used broadly again this year was a coupon that customers receive from the restaurant by making a minimum donation to Share Our Strength's Great American Dine Out; the coupon provided a discount or free item on a future visit to the participating restaurant. This year, LRG is participating by offering a coupon for a free kids meal of any kind. For each coupon that is redeemed, a donation of 25 cents will be made.

"We chose to participate because the Great American Dine Out supports our commitment to the youth and the initiatives that we have already put in place to invest into our own backyard," says Kelly Hasty of Liberty Restaurant Group.
