Steak ‘n Shake Celebrates First Location in Athens, Georgia

Steak ‘n Shake, famous for the Original Steakburger and hand-dipped Milk Shakes, celebrates the grand opening of its first restaurant in the city of Athens, Georgia at 2033 West Broad St. The official ribbon cutting ceremony takes place November 15 at 10 a.m., to be hosted by franchisee Wayne Robinson. The University of Georgia Red Coat Band and the ROTC are also slated to attend.

Sardar Biglari, CEO of Steak ‘n Shake, comments, “We are extremely excited to bring another Steak ‘n Shake restaurant to Georgia. Each time we have opened a new Steak ‘n Shake, we have received a tremendous turnout which is building to an ardent following.” Biglari adds, “The Athens Steak ‘n Shake is a topically designed, freestanding unit. The restaurant has been patterned after refreshing notions of classic, timeless, and transcendent quality. At Steak ‘n Shake we are dedicated to a food culture that enlivens one’s palate.”

Steak ‘n Shake, founded in 1934 in Normal, Illinois by restaurateur Gus Belt, is the pioneer in the “better burger” segment of the restaurant industry. In addition to showcasing the new design, Steak ‘n Shake continues its 78-year-old tradition of serving a variety of Steakburgers and Milk Shakes including the newest and tastiest offerings, the Sante Fe Steakburger as well as the limited-time only White Chocolate, Egg Nog, and Peppermint Chocolate Chip Milk Shakes.

Steak ‘n Shake guests can also enjoy a number of daily deals beginning with the Half Price Happy Hour on all milk shakes and drinks served weekdays from 2 - 4 p.m., Kids Eat Free on Weekends, and the “4 meals under $4 menu.”
