Taco John’s Cuts Calories with New Side Items
Combo meals are getting a new look at Taco John’s. The Mexican quick service restaurant chain is offering six new side dishes in addition to its world-famous Potato Olés.
“When we introduced Santa Fe Burritos and Bowls this past summer, we wanted to offer guests greater selection and variety as they purchased their meals at Taco John’s,” says Bob Karisny, vice president for menu strategy and innovation. “As we looked at the great new ingredients Santa Fe brought into our restaurants, we saw another area to offer more variety – our combo meals.”
The new side dishes include Chips & Queso, Cilantro-Lime Rice, Cilantro-Lime Rice with Black Beans, Side Salad, Refried Beans, and Chips & Nacho Cheese.
"Talking with our guests, they told us adding more variety in flavor, as well as healthier options, would make their combo purchases more personal and pleasurable,” Karisny says. “By adding variety, we hope to truly make them feel like “a guest” and allow them to create meals that satisfy their personal tastes.”
Karisny sees the new side dishes as an extension of Taco John’s longstanding tradition of honoring the requests of guests and allowing them to customize their menu selections.
