Golden Chick, the Texas-based chicken chain that has prided itself on treating guests like family for the past 48 years, today announced plans to add 80 new locations in Houston and Beaumont by 2025.

Lee Sanders, managing general partner of Rocket Chicks, LP, has signed an area development agreement committing to the direct development and operation of restaurants and the sale of franchises to others for more than 80 franchised Golden Chick locations in Houston and Beaumont. The Rocket Chicks Team includes operations, development, and franchise sales veterans with a rich knowledge in the franchised restaurant space. Collectively, their senior team has more than 70 years of experience.

“We are unbelievably excited to introduce Golden Chick to guests in the Houston and Beaumont areas for the first time in the brand’s history,” says Sanders. “It is an honor to be a key partner in Golden Chick’s future growth and the exclusive area developer for these markets.”

Sanders has more than 35 years of restaurant industry experience, including 30 years of experience managing operations for national chains such as Friday’s, Johnny Rockets, Buffalo Wild Wings, Dunkin’ Donuts, and Baskin-Robbins, where he played a key role in growth. Additionally, Sanders held various positions with General Mills Inc. and Frito-Lay.

“We are happy to have Lee on our team and are confident in his ability to bring the Golden Chick brand to Houston and Beaumont,” says Mark Parmerlee, CEO of Golden Chick. “His commitment to the growth of the brand is inspiring, and we look forward to further expanding our presence in Texas.”

The 80-plus new locations will be developed over the next 10 years, with the first location slated to open this fall.

Golden Chick’s best-known menu choices include juicy Golden Tenders, fried and roasted chicken and catfish; along with garden salads for those seeking a lighter option. Gourmet chicken salad and the restaurant’s famous yeast rolls make any visit extra special.

The new Golden Chick locations will help fuel the Houston and Beaumont communities by providing an estimated 1,000 new jobs in these areas over the next decade.
