The National Council of Chain Restaurants, a trade association representing chain restaurant companies, announced today that Donatos and O’Charley’s Inc. have become its newest members.

Donatos, founded in 1963 in Columbus, Ohio, with the philosophy “To make the best pizza and to treat others the way I would like to be treated,” now operates more than 190 restaurants and 135 Take n Bake units in five states.

“During these difficult times it is important to build strong relationships and we are proud to partner with NCCR,” says Jane Abel, Donatos president and COO.

“The membership provides our company the opportunity to network with other business professionals and is a key resource for critical governmental affairs. The information and education provided by NCCR is imperative for our strategy as we navigate through the upcoming changes in our economy.”

O’Charley’s Inc., headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, is a multiconcept restaurant company that operates or franchises a total of 372 restaurants under three brands: O’Charley’s, Ninety Nine Restaurant, and Stoney River Legendary Steaks.

“O’Charley’s Inc. employs 24,000 team members in 29 states in the eastern half of the United States, and plays a vital economic role in every one of its communities,” says Lawrence E. Hyatt, interim chief executive officer and CFO of O’Charley’s Inc.

“We believe that, by joining forces with other chain restaurant companies through NCCR, we will be able to better support the interests of our industry, to the benefit of our people and the communities where they live and work.”

In addition to participating in committees like NCCR’s Food Safety Task Force, NCCR members also receive membership privileges in the National Retail Federation, its parent association and the world’s largest retail trade group.

“We are delighted to welcome Donatos and O’Charley’s as NCCR’s newest members and look forward to working with them to advance the interests of the chain restaurant industry,” says Jack Whipple, president, National Council of Chain Restaurants.

The National Council of Chain Restaurants is the leading trade association exclusively representing chain restaurant companies.
