United Brands Acquires Ware-Washing Company

Unified Brands announced it has acquired Power Soak Systems, a privately held company and the leading manufacturer of continuous-motion ware-washing systems headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, with its manufacturing facility in Pryor, Oklahoma.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

“The acquisition of Power Soak Systems will leverage our channel with additional value-added products,” says Bill Strenglis, president of Unified Brands. “It will expand our presence in the kitchen, complementing our Randell, Groen, Avtec, and A la Cart product offerings, and will enhance our penetration of the restaurant chain and retail market segments, where Power Soak can augment our formidable distribution capabilities.

“Power Soak is a highly respected and innovative foodservice equipment manufacturer serving many of the nations’ largest restaurant chains, hospitals, hotels, and corporate kitchens,” he adds. “With the acquisition of Power Soak, Unified Brands is poised to expand its breadth of customized solutions addressing the operational efficiency, food safety, and environmental needs of our customers.”

John Cantrell, president of Power Soak, says, “Becoming a part of a well-recognized, leading foodservice equipment manufacturer like Unified Brands represents a major milestone for Power Soak.

Cantrell will continue to lead Power Soak and have a leadership role in Unified Brands as vice president/general manager.

Unified Brands and its Groen, Randell, Avtec, and A la Cart product lines have leading industry positions in cooking equipment, cook-chill production systems, custom fabrication, foodservice refrigeration, ventilation, and conveyor systems.

Unified Brands is headquartered in Jackson, Mississippi, and operates manufacturing facilities there and in Weidman, Michigan.
