Fast casual New Orleans style barbecue restaurant VooDoo BBQ & Grill opened its 17th location on February 9 in Hollywood, Florida, and plans to open another Florida location, Boca Raton, and Kenner, Louisiana, restaurants in March. That will bring the restaurant’s total locations to 19, with 10-15 more stores planned in the next 12 months.

As VooDoo BBQ & Grill continues expansion, it is currently testing a new prototype with new design features that include an open kitchen which allows guests to watch their food be prepared in front of them. With the new design, guests will begin their New Orleans BBQ style experience at the protein carving station, followed by a variety of freshly prepared New Orleans traditional sides down a serving line of friendly Krewe. This prototype is being tested in the Kenner, Lousiana, location when it opens in March.

We are always looking for new and efficient ways to serve our guests, and this prototype will give us insight to better do so,” says Glen Helton, president of VooDoo BBQ & Grill. “We look forward to providing our guests with a different experience and design as we open in Kenner, Lousiana.”

The restaurant will also add new menu items at the prototype restaurant in Kenner. New additions include Red Beans & Rice with Smoked Sausage, BBQ Jambalaya, BBQ Oysters, Cajun BBQ Chicken, and to top off the meal some New Orleans traditions like White Chocolate Bread Pudding or freshly prepared Beignets.

Our new menu items are a great addition to our New Orleans-style food,” says Tony Avila, CEO of VooDoo BBQ & Grill. “We expect them to be popular with our guests and hope to eventually offer them in all VooDoo locations.”
