Doing good never tasted so good. Through mid-April, Wendy’s Frosty fans can buy a Frosty Key Tag for $1 while supplies last, which gets them a free Jr. Frosty every time they present the tag with their purchase through August. This sweet deal is part of a program that helps children waiting in foster care find life-changing families.

2014 marks the first year the Frosty Key Tag promotion will be offered at participating Wendy’s nationwide and is the first of a four-part national fundraising effort for Wendy’s largest cause-marketing campaign. All proceeds benefit the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, an organization that works in communities across North America to help find loving homes for the more than 134,000 children in the foster care system waiting to be adopted.

With the Frosty Key Tag Program, our customers only need $1 to make a big difference in the lives of many – all while enjoying their favorite Frosty treat all summer long,” says Liz Geraghty, Wendy’s vice president, brand marketing. “We are proud to continue the work of our founder Dave Thomas, who himself was adopted, through our ongoing support of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.”

Through Wendy’s support of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, more than 4,000 children in foster care have been adopted. Last year, Wendy’s raised $450,000 during the key tag promotion and hopes to raise $1.3 million this year with the national expansion of the program.
