Whataburger's popular Green Chile Double Burger is back once more for a limited time in Texas and Oklahoma. The burger, with a roasted green chile flavor, returned earlier this week to satisfy bold tastes.

The Green Chile Double Burger features two beef patties; both Monterey Jack and American cheese slices; and roasted, seasoned green chiles on a toasted bun. The chiles give the burger its flavor, but fans can kick up the spice by adding jalapeños for a few cents more.

The popular burger first debuted back in 2010 and was made a permanent “All Time Favorite” menu item in Whataburger locations across Arizona, New Mexico, and El Paso, Texas, due to the green chiles’ influence in southwestern cuisine.

“We heard from our fans that they’ve missed the Green Chile Double as an option for their burgers. We listened and are excited to bring back the bold flavor to Texas and Oklahoma customers,” says Rich Scheffler, vice president of marketing and innovation. “Plus, with green chiles back as an add-on, customers can enjoy the roasted green chile flavor on their Taquitos, Chicken Fajita Tacos, and any of their favorite Whataburger menu items.”

The Green Chile Double is available as a meal or a la carte, and also can be ordered as a junior version on a smaller bun.
