Southern burger chain Whataburger celebrates its 60th anniversary with its "Tell Us Why You're Our Biggest Fan" online contest. At stake is 60 years of free Whataburger, a trip to the Whataburger convention in Dallas, and other prizes.

Beginning August 4 and all throughout the company's anniversary month of August, fans can submit either videos or essays with photos at the company’s website, demonstrating why they are Whataburger's biggest fans. The first 60 fans to enter will win a coupon for a free Whataburger.

The contest is inspired by customers who for years have shared with Whataburger their stories of traveling hundreds of miles to get a Whataburger, collecting Whataburger memorabilia, making their first stop home from overseas military service at Whataburger, meeting and marrying under the orange flying "W," celebrating special occasions with Whataburger, or other happy memories of life as a Whataburger fan.

"Whataburger has been a part of local communities since 1950 and through the years we've heard funny, heartwarming, and touching stories about loyal fans—fanatics really—who love Whataburger," says Whataburger chairman and CEO Tom Dobson. "We want to honor and thank those fans who have made our Whataburger family such an important part of their lives."

Winning stories will demonstrate a true connection to the Whataburger brand loved by generations. The contest closes on August 31 and winners will be announced on September 15. The first place winner will receive a prize package worth more than $10,000 including a gift card for "60 Years of Whataburger." Second prize is 60 months of free Whataburger and third prize is 60 months of free breakfast on a bun at Whataburger.

The top three entrants will also each receive a trip for two to the Gaylord Texan in Dallas for a chance to be behind the scenes at a Whataburger Family Member annual convention, and a video crew will be sent to their hometowns to professionally document their stories.
