As part of Wienerschnitzel’s 40th Anniversary special promotions, the world’s largest hot dog chain, will give away a vintage 1961 Corvette during its “On-the-Cup” Contest from April 1 to May 31 at participating Wienerschnitzel locations.

Manufactured during the chain’s first year of business, the 1961 vintage Corvette is valued at $45,000. To play, customers can purchase a 32-ounce Pepsi and peel off the attached game piece sticker to reveal various prizes. Every game piece is a winner, including 20 semi-finalists trips for two to Los Angeles, California, where the winner of the 1961 Corvette will be determined. Prizes also include Pepsi Sports Watches and duffel bags, as well as free Wienerschnitzel food products and discounts.

The grand prize car will officially be given away to one of the 20 semi-finalists at a special event hosted by a Los Angeles—area Wienerschnitzel in August 2001. At the event, the contestants will be invited to randomly select a car key from a pile of 20 keys and the person who starts the car with their key will be declared the grand prize winner, driving home a fully-refurbished vintage 1961 Corvette.

In addition to the 1961 Corvette Giveaway Contest, plans call for more exciting 40th Anniversary chain-wide events throughout the year including a free chili dog giveaway at all participating locations in ten states on July 3 from 5 to 8 p.m., Regional Wiener National races, and the launch of the chain’s new Jalepeno Poppers stuffed with Wienerschnitzel’s proprietary chili and cheese in May.

Consumers can also send away for a free Corvette Giveaway Contest game piece, while supplies last, by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope postmarked by May 31, 2001 to “Wienerschnitzel 40th Anniversary Win a 1961 Corvette” Game, P.O. Box 3039, Young America, MN, 55558-3039, or by calling (877) 574-2274. Only one request is accepted per stamped envelope and the game is open to legal residents of Arizona, California, Colorado, Illinois, Louisiana, New Mexico, Nevada, Texas, Utah, and Washington only.
