Wingstop has landed in Hawaii. The chain opened its first restaurant in the Aloha State at the Gateway at Mililani Mauka in Mililani.

The new location operates under the leadership of Brand Partner Jon Savage, a partner in Asia Pacific Restaurant Group LLC, the Wingstop Hawaii franchise operator. Savage partners with longtime Wingstop brand partner Danny Sonenshine, who owns and operates 27 Wingstop locations throughout the U.S. The new location is the first of 10 planned Hawaii-based restaurants in a multiunit development agreement.

“We are thrilled to introduce Wingstop to Hawaii and are confident that customers will immediately become Wingstop fans,” Savage says. “We’re known as ‘The Wing Experts,’ and we’re inviting local residents to come in and taste what all the excitement is all about.”

The new Hawaii restaurant marks the 35th state of entry for the award-winning wing concept. Wingstop now has more than 670 locations open around the world, and is celebrating the company’s 11th consecutive year of same store sales growth.

“We are all very excited to bring Wingstop’s popular menu offerings to our new Hawaii fans, and introduce a whole new level of distinct, bold flavors to the Hawaiian Islands,” says Dave Vernon, Wingstop chief development officer.  “Additional locations in the state are already in development and the second restaurant will open soon.”

With a sole focus on cooked-to-order chicken, the Wingstop menu features traditional and boneless wings, as well as strips, all sauced and tossed in 11 original flavors including fan favorites Mango Habanero, Garlic Parmesan, and Original Hot. Sides are made daily, including hand-cut seasoned fries, made from #1 Idaho potatoes. Wingstop restaurants in Hawaii will also offer two sides not found at mainland locations, macaroni salad and steamed rice.
