Yummy Cupcakes, the Los Angeles-based gourmet cupcake bakeshop that offers an extensive line of cupcakes and specialty cupcake treats, recently announced its aggressive franchise growth plans, sweetening the deal for consumers and franchise prospects alike. The bakeshop will call the San Diego coast its latest “treat spot” with its first domestic franchise location opening early July.
What started in 2004 as a single location, family-operated concept has become known as an original, fresh, and immersive bakery experience. Yummy Cupcakes’ franchise opening in San Diego marks the brand’s 7th location, adding to its three Los Angeles stores and two international stores. The franchise, which currently has three additional signed agreements ready to open later this year, is entering a new stage of growth as it looks to propel the brand name throughout the nation by attracting franchisees with its flexible development options, experienced leadership team, low initial cost, and perfected business model.
The one-of-a-kind bakeshop offers a variety of exceptional cupcakes as well as specialty cupcake treats such as cupcakes-in-a-jar and cupcake push-pops, all made daily from scratch with more than 400 artisanal flavors. For those with dietary restrictions, Yummy Cupcakes offers glute-less, vegan, and sugar-free options. With a majority of ticket sales coming from specialty orders and private events, Yummy Cupcakes sits extremely high among its competition in the quick service industry.
“There may be other bakeshops, but there is nothing out there like Yummy Cupcakes,” says CEO and founder Tiffini Soforenko, who is also the mastermind and executive chef for the brand. “We fully embrace our new growth plan and will continue to show customers that there is a major difference between a ‘good cupcake’ and a ‘great cupcake’.”
Yummy Cupcakes has multi-unit franchise opportunities available through different development options. Franchisees can purchase a full-sized bakeshop with the option to add on satellite
bakeshops nearby for a smaller footprint. The low barrier of entry makes Yummy Cupcakes an attractive franchise option, and with seven domestic locations there is plenty of room to grow. Typical development costs for a bakeshop range from $149,000-$290,000, while costs for a satellite store range from $70,000-$120,000.
Proving its commitment to grow the brand, Yummy Cupcakes recently formed a strategic partnership with Javelin Solutions, a real estate and site selection services to the franchise industry, and F.C. Dadson, a single-source provider of custom retail environments. Both partnerships will help to accelerate growth and provide new franchisees with high-level franchise expertise.
