"We expected sales to be strong going into 2009 as our brand continues to gain market share in the communities we serve," says Andrew Gamm, director of Brand Development for Pizza Patron.
Company officials attribute the sales increases to a combination of classic menu favorites and the popularity of the chain's new extreme value choices. The recently added Amigo Pizza played a significant role in driving the results.
"We believe our current sales trends are not an anomaly but rather a reflection of our commitment to create an unmistakably Latino experience in our restaurants," says Antonio Swad, founder of Pizza Patrón Inc. "Our brand is uniquely aligned with the youngest and fastest-growing demographic in the U.S., plus our everyday values have broad appeal for everyone--we love our position."
Pizza Patrón has been credited with creating the country's first chain of Latino-Hispano focused restaurants, where traditional American-style pizza is served in a distinctly Latin environment. The company currently operates nearly 90 stores in six states and plans to have 750 stores nationwide within a decade.
