Taco Bell Corp. today announced that it has successfully converted all of its Taco Bell restaurants to a zero grams trans fat frying oil. All 4,200 single brand restaurants have been converted to a zero grams trans fat canola oil and approximately 1,400 multibrand locations to a low linolenic soybean oil. The company began the conversion from partially hydrogenated oil in November 2006 following more than two years of consumer testing to find a solution that delivers the same great Taco Bell taste with zero grams trans fat.
“Converting to a zero grams trans fat frying oil is yet another chapter in the book of Taco Bell food innovation,” says Greg Creed, President of Taco Bell Corp. “We are always looking at ways to improve our ingredients and give our customers more choices. Now they can enjoy their favorite Taco Bell items prepared with zero grams trans fat oil in all our restaurants nationwide.”
