The test posed the four brands' basic black coffee selections against one another and graded on flavor and strength. Priced at $1.35, McDonald's coffee was reported to be "decent and moderately strong."
Fast-food rival Burger King did not fair as well with its coffee priced at $1.40. Tastetesters said the chain's brew "tasted more like hot water." Starbucks coffee for $1.55 was too bitter and burnt for the testers liking, while Dunkin' Donuts "had no oomph" even though it was more expensive ($1.65).
