For the four weeks ended January 26, U.S. comparable-store sales—the performance benchmark for retail and restaurant chains—rose 8 percent at both Taco Bell and KFC and were unchanged at Pizza Hut.
International system sales—including sales from company, franchise, license, and joint-venture restaurants—were up 9 percent, excluding the effects of the strong U.S. dollar. After converting to U.S. dollars, international sales were up 6 percent.
