Musicians from all music genres have a chance to hit the big time by writing and performing an original song about their hamburger hankerings. So whether your band bangs out heavy metal tunes or you prefer to belt out a love ballad, Wendy's wants to hear your music—as long as it's original and "sings the praises" of hamburgers.
"Since the 1950s, music and hamburgers have held a special place at the heart of American pop culture, but there aren't too many hamburger songs out there," said Chris Henger, general manager of RollingStone.com. "Maybe we'll create a new 'hamburger classic' with this contest."
Two contest finalists will make an appearance on CBS' Late, Late Show with Craig Kilborn, and the Grand Prize winner will have a personal recording session with Wynn Jackson, founder and president of Country Club Enterprises and former vice president of promotion for RCA and Polygram Records.
"I've loved hamburgers since I was a little boy. I know there are plenty of people out there who love hamburgers as much as I do. I can't wait to hear how they put that passion to music," said Dave Thomas, Wendy's founder.
