Teaneck resident Stacey Davis was honored at a celebration with family and friends at the Rochelle Park Dairy Queen restaurant in New Jersey where she was presented a ceremonial check for $100,000. Davis served as the captain of team Cool Champs whose seven members won the Dairy Queen Oreo Blizzard 100 contest, a unique location-based, social media-driven initiative that the Dairy Queen system launched in May to celebrate the 100th birthday of Oreo.
Teams entering the Oreo Blizzard 100 contest were tasked to check-in on a mobile device through Facebook Places or dq.com/oreo at least 100 times at multiple DQ locations for the chance to win $100,000. The Cool Champs team members, who spanned five states including Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, checked in 117 times during the three-month quest.
Davis says, "The event was wonderful and I am so grateful. Winning $100,000 officially feels real now."
