The totals are in, and Dutch Bros. Coffee raised more than $139K—nearly $50K more than last year—for youth organizations during its annual Buck-4-Kids event on December 7, 2012.
That day, all 190 Dutch Bros. Coffee locations in seven states participated by donating drink proceeds to youth programs selected by local owner-operators.
Organizations supported ranged from regional Boys & Girls Clubs to Christmas toy collection programs.
In addition to the annual, company-wide event, franchisees support youth in their local communities year-round.
“I like to support as many organizations and activities that involve kids and youth as possible,” says Newberg, Oregon, franchisee Ryan Hawkins, who contributes to various local schools.
“We really focus on making a difference and being a great place for kids and families,” says Yakima, Washington, franchisee Shawn Hill.
The 2013 Buck-4-Kids event will take place on December 6, 2013, when Dutch Bros. employees and customers alike will strive to raise even more for the causes dear to their hearts. Dutch Bros. will also be holding its annual MDA Day on May 3, 2013, which last year raised $174K for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
The 2011 Buck-4-Kids event raised $93K. Dutch Bros. Coffee donates over $1 million every year to nonprofit organizations and causes, in an effort to achieve its goal of “making a difference, one cup at a time.”
