Krystal’s anniversary party may be over, but the stats are showing a success for the Southern brand. On October 24, over a four-hour period, Krystal fans from Chattanooga, Tennessee, to Jacksonville, Florida, formed lines to take advantage of purchasing Krystals for just a quarter and Cheese Krystals for 30 cents. The results showed a 27 percent increase in sales over last year’s event.
Within three hours of announcing the event, Krystal’s Facebook page had 1,004 shares and 23 retweets on Twitter. During the 7 to 10 p.m. celebration, Krystal had more than 20,000 engagements on social media.
“We loved sharing the Southern goodness of the Krystal brand with so many of our long-time supporters,” says Tom Peterson, Krystal’s vice president and CMO. “They’ve been with us for the past 81 years, and thanks to their loyalty, we’re well positioned for the future.”
Krystal president and CEO, Doug Pendergast, gave praise to Krystal teams across the Southeast for making the celebration such a huge success. “Our team put weeks of planning into this year’s event,” he says. “Their excitement about our company was contagious, and it was fun to hear Krystal Lovers using our new tag, ‘Let’s Krystal,’ throughout the evening. This type of excitement is exactly what our brand is about, and we were pleased to share Krystal’s Southern goodness with so many.”
