2003 QSR 50 As the quick-serve segment continues to expand and redefine, so does QSR's coverage of it. As you will notice, the 2003 QSR 50 includes several chains not covered previously, particularly in the beverage and snack category. While not serving the "usual" burger-and-fries fare, Starbucks, Dunkin-Donuts, Krispy Kreme and Baskin-Robbins are all major players in the quick-serve segment so their inclusion came quite naturally. Each year QSR magazine publishes its August issue with the annual QSR 50 study. There are charts, lists, and loads of statistical data in this packed issue. Here you can buy just what is pertinent to the study with this QSR 50 excerpt package. |

EXCERPT: Baja Fresh moved up eight spots from last year, increasing sales over 40 percent and placing in the QSR 50 for the first time. CEO Greg Dollarhyde says most of the growth was due to new restaurant openings, which increased at a nearly the same rate as sales. Baja Fresh has focused its efforts to expand beyond its Southwestern concentration into such large markets as D.C., Boston, and Florida. "We've got a concept that America wants," Dollarhyde says.
