Smithfield’s Partners with FanBase for E-mail Marketing


FanBase LLC, a North Carolina–based startup launched in September 2013, announced that Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q is using its CRM + E-mail Marketing application to expand its online capabilities. FanBase’s e-mail marketing solutions will enable Smithfield’s to grow its customer database and send targeting e-mails to customers.

Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q opened its new Greensboro restaurant at 4101 Fernhurst Way on August 22, 2013, and received overwhelming support from the Greensboro community. This store is the brand’s 34th location to serve the high quality food and hospitality that was rooted in the restaurant’s humble beginning.

The Quest for Viral

At Arby’s, it was “legendary detective” Bo Dietl delivering a meat slicer to a competitor’s drive-thru window, reminding viewers and Arby’s fans that many competitors don’t slice on site. At Quiznos, it was a look-alike of famed gymnastics coach Béla Károlyi rating its Chicken Bacon Dipper sandwich as it sailed through the air and landed in a container of dipping sauce.

For both quick-service brands, these scenes, captured in video for TV and online audiences, successfully made fans laugh and created brand awareness, drove traffic, and inspired others to share.

It's Tailgate Time at Smithfield’s

Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q is bringing fans together again for its second Real Tailgate promotion: The College Football Podcast. Sponsored by Smithfield's and hosted by Demetri Ravanos and Rashim Lee, the weekly show focuses on college football with a North Carolina focus. In a new, exciting play this year, the Real Tailgate can be experienced live via a Google Hangout each Wednesday at 9:30 p.m., hosted by James Waldo and Ben Swain.

Smithfields Helps Roll to Cystic Fibrosis Cure

Forget running or walking – the Joey O Bocce Classic charity tournament is focused on rolling to cure cystic fibrosis – using a bocce ball. While it might seem unlikely, this popular tournament draws dozens of teams to Cardinal Gibbons High School football field for the largest event of its kind in the Research Triangle. This year’s sixth annual tournament on April 28 raised over $35,500.
