When Technomic released a study last year that researched transparency in the supply chain, Garden Fresh Restaurant Corporation CEO John Morberg took the data seriously. The study found that most consumers want restaurants to be more transparent about ingredients, and Morberg knew customers at Garden Fresh’s Sweet Tomatoes and Souplantation restaurants were no different.

Using Your Noodle

They’re made with just flour and water, but mixing these simple ingredients has created one of the world’s most popular foods. Noodles, from Italian pasta to all-American macaroni and cheese, and from Asian wheat or rice flour versions to those used for chicken noodle soup, are on the menus at about half of American limited-service restaurants.

Garden Fresh Welcomes Two New Executives

Garden Fresh Restaurant Corp. announced that David A. Carr and Julie L. Derry are joining the company as chief financial officer and chief marketing officer, respectively. Carr previously served as vice president of finance for Petco Animal Supplies Inc., while Derry headed digital commerce at See’s Candies.

Sweet Tomatoes, Souplantation Start Fresh in 2013

Guests at Sweet Tomatoes and Souplantation restaurants can create their own fresh start this month by choosing from a selection of fresh, flavorful, whole grain and vegetarian menu items.

Spotlighting the wholesome, fresh ingredients Sweet Tomatoes and Souplantation are known for, several ‘Fresh Start’ choices are available throughout January to complement the many healthy options the salad and soup specialists offer all year long.

Souplantation, Sweet Tomatoes Runs Taste the World Campaign

In an effort to reach customers beyond the doors of its restaurants, Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes partnered with Brandmovers to launch a strategic online contest.

With a custom microsite, social media engagement, and daily giveaways, Brandmovers transformed the annual Taste the World campaign and engaged more than 100,000 Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes diners.

Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes Join "Kids LiveWell"

Citing its commitment to offering healthful menu options to its youngest customers, Garden Fresh Restaurant Corp, parent company to more than 122 Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes restaurants nationwide, announced it has signed on to "Kids LiveWell," a nationwide initiative that highlights restaurants' innovative solutions to providing better-for-you menu items, led by the National Restaurant Association in collaboration with Healthy Dining.

Take Home Food From Souplantation, Sweet Tomatoes

Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes, the restaurant leaders in all-you-care-to-eat, made-from-scratch foods, are helping customers nationwide entertain holiday guests this season. Starting this month, Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes restaurants will release 15 holiday take-home items – the largest retail release in the company’s history.

The new holiday take-home items follow the success of the take-and-bake Cranberry Apple Cobbler offered for the first time last year.

Garden Fresh Becomes First Large-Scale Green Chain

Garden Fresh Restaurant Corp., parent company to Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes, announced today its sustainability initiatives and Green Restaurant Association certification. Garden Fresh is the largest restaurant chain in the nation to be certified by the Green Restaurant Association, an industry standard in restaurant sustainability.
