Rita's Completes Refinancing of Debt amid Growth

Rita’s Franchise Company, the franchise company of the world’s largest Italian Ice concept, Rita’s Italian Ice, announced it completed a refinancing of the company’s debt with leading lenders SunTrust Bank and Spring Capital Partners. The refinancing comes on the heels of the company’s impressive growth plans that call for 100 new locations in 2015.

Rita’s Italian Ice Grows in Middle East and U.S. Stadiums

Rita’s Italian Ice, the world’s largest Italian ice concept with more than 600 stores, opens 2015 with growth both at home and abroad as it awards its fourth international master franchise agreement and builds upon its stadium presence in the United States.

“We were laser-focused on growth in 2014,” says Eric Taylor, chief development officer of Rita’s Italian Ice. “We’re proud to be officially entering the Middle East and introducing this beloved 30-year-old brand and its philosophy of ‘ice, custard, and happiness,’ to an entirely new group of consumers.”

Rita's Italian Ice Opens 50th Franchise Location

Rita’s Italian Ice, the Italian Ice concept with more than 600 stores in 26 states, announced the opening of its 50th new location of the year, with the first in the state of Iowa. Since 1984, the East Coast brand has been dedicated to serving up a big dose of happiness with its custom treats, and 30 years later, Rita’s is now spreading “Ice, Custard, Happiness” in Des Moines, Iowa. The new location will offer complimentary regular sizes of Rita’s famous Italian Ice for the whole community to try during its grand opening celebration Friday, September 26.

Rita’s Raises Funds for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation

Rita’s Italian Ice raised $300,000 for long-time partner Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF), a national nonprofit dedicated to finding cures for kids with cancer. A check presentation will take place Wednesday, July 30, at 9:30 a.m. at Rita’s Cool Support Center, in Trevose, Pennsylvania, with Liz and Jay Scott, Alex’s parents and co-executive directors of ALSF, accepting the donation from Jeff Moody, Rita’s chief executive officer.

Rita’s Italian Ice Plants Flag in New Mexico

Rita’s Italian Ice awarded franchise and area development agreements for New Mexico and three cities in southern Colorado (Durango, Pagosa Springs, and Trinidad) to RNM Management Inc., owned by Dave and Mark Gaulden, Albuquerque residents and long-time entrepreneurs. As Rita’s expands to their 26th state, plans call for 30 stores to be developed over eight years with the first location planned for Albuquerque in March of 2015.

Rita’s Italian Ice Tangos with Mango

Rita’s Italian Ice, the Italian Ice concept with more than 600 stores, announced the debut of its newest summer flavor, Mango-Strawberry Italian Ice, available through July 27. Guests can try the new Mango-Strawberry Italian Ice or create a personalized Mango masterpiece by mixing their favorite Italian ice flavor with the mango offering. Rita’s fans can also enjoy any of Rita’s Mango Italian Ice flavors in its signature treats, including Gelati, Misto, Blendini, or Frozen Lemonade.

Rita's Introduces New Watermelon Flavor for Summer

Rita’s Italian Ice is celebrating its “Summer of Fun” with a new flavor, Watermelon Chip Cream Ice. 

Rita’s announced it will kick off summer with the 3rd Annual First Day of Summer event on Saturday, June 21. Rita’s will be scooping regular sizes of its Italian Ice for $2, or guests can enjoy a regular size signature Gelati, a layering of Italian Ice and Frozen Custard, for $3.

Rita's Touches Down in Eagan

Rita’s Italian Ice awards franchise and area development agreements for Minnesota to franchisees and area residents, Adam and Angela Ailloni. With wonderful family memories of enjoying Rita's products during trips to the East Coast with their two boys, theAilloni’s decided to bring Rita’s “Ice, Custard, Happiness” and “Cool Treats” to the Greater Minneapolis St. Paul area.

Rita’s Italian Ice Lands in Kansas

Rita’s Italian Ice, the Italian ice concept with over 600 stores in 23 states, has awarded franchise and area development agreements for Kansas and the Kansas City area, which extends to the Missouri side of the city, to franchisees and local residents Jay Miller, Jeff Miller, and Pat Reilly. Having had Rita’s while living in Philadelphia, these three local Wichita, Kansas, residents decided to become franchisees and bring Rita’s to the state. The team also owns a Five Guys Burgers and Fries unit near where the first Rita’s store is now open in Wichita.
