In celebration of Wienerschnitzel’s 53rd Anniversary, the hot dog went back to where it all began in 1961 and made a few retro updates to the very first “Der Wienerschnitzel” location in Wilmington, California. Updates include large photos from Wienerschnitzel beginnings placed along the building as well as a plaque declaring the location a historic landmark by the city of Los Angeles, making it the second fast-food establishment in the city’s history to receive the honor. The landmark dedication ceremony will take place on Tuesday, September 16, at 2 p.m.
Wienerschnitzel is giving guests even more chances to win big during its fifth-annual Cash in on a Corn Dog sweepstakes. Beginning August 25, just by purchasing a fan-favorite corn dog, guests can rake in prizes including free corn dogs, cash, and gift cards, along with the $1,000,000 grand prize.
July is National Hot Dog Month and the 53rd anniversary of Wienerschnitzel. To celebrate, the company is rolling back prices on three classic Hot Dogs on Sunday, July 20. In honor of its 1961 founding year, participating Wienerschnitzel locations are offering fans its original Chili Dog, Mustard Dog, or Kraut Dog for 61 cents each.
Wienerschnitzel has introduced a variety of new menu items to kick-off the summer. Two new Big Angus Premium Beef Dogs, Tastee Freez Caramel creations and Summer Sippers Lemonades are now available for a limited time at participating locations.
The BBQ Bacon Angus Dog features bacon, crispy onion straws and zesty BBQ sauce.
The Blue Cheese & Bacon Angus Dog is topped with Blue Cheese crumbles, grilled onion, and drizzled with Blue Cheese dressing.
Wienerschnitzel, the world’s largest hot dog chain, is cutting back the price of its Chili Dogs to just 99 cents for limited time only. Back by popular demand for the fourth year, this deal is available at participating locations through April 27.

The Jalapeno Cheese Corn Dog is stuffed with melted cheese and jalapeno bits.
Wienerschnitzel’s Summer Sippers feature a line of ice-cold lemonade in four flavors: Strawberry, Cherry, Mango, and Blackberry.
Paul Hironimus turned 80 years old in January. Like so many other franchisees, Hironimus, a Long Beach City College graduate, began his professional career outside the quick-service industry, serving as a draftsman in Los Angeles.
Nine years after graduating, in the early ’60s, Hironimus took an interest in Wienerschnitzel, which had just opened shop. And since 1965, he has maintained a successful portfolio of franchised units.
