PizzaRev, a fast-casual build-your-own pizza concept, announced the addition of five franchise groups to develop the brand throughout Denver; Washington, D.C.; Las Vegas; Long Island, New York; and Columbus, Ohio. PizzaRev plans to open at least 40 franchise locations across the markets.
Over the past century, Americans have developed a special craving for certain foods, both at home and in restaurants—items like burgers and fries, sandwiches and fried chicken.
And then there’s pizza. One of the nation’s most beloved meals, pizza is the sum of varied parts: crust, sauce, cheese, meat or other proteins, vegetables, and the baking style. All are important, but the toppings are the real ingredient that gives customers and operators alike room to play around with new flavors.
PizzaRev entered Texas with a recent franchise opening in the Austin market. Restaurant developers David Jones and Doug Tieber opened the doors to PizzaRev in Round Rock last week, the first of four franchise locations planned for greater Austin.
Operating under the Pizzapeel LLC franchise group, Jones and Tieber also have the rights to develop St. Louis, Missouri. They currently operate 18 Buffalo Wild Wings restaurants.
Away We Dough hosted the grand opening of Utah’s first PizzaRev, a build-your-own artisanal pizza concept that has earned a loyal following of Southern California fans. The new West Valley restaurant is the first of five franchise locations planned to open in Utah in the next six months.
Away We Dough LLC is part of William Tell Inc., based in Salt Lake City. The group owns and operates 18 Applebee’s and eight Famous Dave’s in Utah and Washington.
PizzaRev will bring its artisanal, Roman-style pizzas to more homes, schools, business meetings, and special events through the company’s new catering program. The build-your-own, fast-casual pizza franchise appointed catering sales manager Bibiana Deaver to lead the effort on behalf of PizzaRev’s 10 Los Angeles–area corporate stores and to develop a blueprint for its franchise partners’ catering programs.
PizzaRev marked its two-year anniversary with a special $5 pizza day at PizzaRev’s inaugural Northridge, California, location on April 22—the restaurant served more than 1,000 pizzas.
PizzaRev operates eight Los Angeles–area restaurants and is on pace to open 65 franchised and corporate locations across the country by the end of 2015.
PizzaRev announced Buffalo Wild Wings Inc. has completed a second tranche of its equity investment in the company.
“Buffalo Wild Wings has been an incredible partner for PizzaRev over the last year as we have expanded our market presence and perfected our growth strategy,” says PizzaRev coCEO Rodney Eckerman. “This important second tranche investment will enable us to continue to aggressively pursue corporate and franchised unit growth and bring the unique PizzaRev experience to exciting new markets across the U.S.”
PizzaRev announced restaurant developers David Jones and Doug Tieber have committed to expanding the fast-casual pizza chain throughout the St. Louis and Austin markets.
Operating under the PizzaPeel franchise group, Jones and Tieber signed an agreement to open four PizzaRev restaurants in Austin and three additional in St. Louis, with rights to further develop both of the regions. They currently operate 17 Buffalo Wild Wings restaurants with another under construction.
PizzaRev announced three new hires as the company prepares for nationwide expansion of its fast-casual brand. “We have hired three seasoned professionals with a depth of experience such that they’ll each hit the ground running in their respective roles,” says Irv Zuckerman, co-CEO of PizzaRev.
