Bennigan's CEO Buys Company, Boosts Fast Casual

Bennigan’s CEO Paul Mangiamele purchased the company he has led since May 2011.

The new company, Legendary Restaurant Brands LLC, is now 100 percent owner of the Bennigan’s restaurant chain, as well as its new fast-casual concept, Bennigan’s On The Fly, and the venerable Steak and Ale brand, which is about to begin its own comeback story.

Mangiamele and his wife, Gwen, who also has extensive experience in the food industry, initiated and executed the Management Buy Out (MBO) from its parent private equity firm for an undisclosed price. The transaction closed February 11.

It Starts at the Top

Every successful brand relies not only on its leader to craft and execute a winning brand strategy, but also on its executive team members to keep the concept running smoothly. A savvy CEO understands that his or her fellow C-suite members must consistently be inspired to be the highest-quality, top-notch executives possible.

For Phillip Chang, CEO of frozen-yogurt chain Yogurtland, treating employees with dignity and respect is of the utmost importance when it comes to motivating his team. He also prioritizes setting a good example for his fellow executives to follow.

Bennigan’s Makes Its Return to Northern Virginia

It’s been five years since the Monte Cristo has been served in Northern Virginia. But thanks to a nationwide resurgence of the Bennigan’s restaurant chain, it’s only a matter of days before locals will once again be able to purchase the classic American sandwich.

The newest Bennigan’s will officially open its doors on Monday, August 19, in McLean, Virginia, across from the Tysons Galleria Mall. A festive grand-opening celebration has been scheduled for September 13.
