Chipotle’s Boorito and $4 Burritos
To kick off its annual Halloween celebration, Chipotle announced the return of Boorito. On October 31, customers who are in costume at all Chipotle locations in the U.S. and Canada can order a burrito, bowl, salad or tacos for only $4 from 3 p.m. to closing.
For those who are ordering online for pickup or delivery can grab the same deal by using the promo code “BOORITO.”
"Boorito is a longstanding Chipotle tradition that's beloved by our fans," says Chris Brandt, chief marketing officer at Chipotle. "We love contributing to the Halloween spirit and seeing our customers show off their fun, creative costumes to celebrate Halloween and enjoy some of their favorite food."
This year Chipotle will also be taking the celebration to social media with an Instagram costume contest on Halloween. The restaurant will choose eight finalists and fans will have the chance to vote for the "Boorito Champion" by 'liking' their favorite costume from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern time on November 1.
The Boorito Champion, who will be announced on November 1, will win a year of free burritos.
Dunkin's Halloween Costume Contest
Calling everyone who loves to dress up — like a doughnut. To celebrate Halloween this year, Dunkin has created a costume contest that will keep the winner caffeinated for a year. Across social media, Dunkin’ has seen its own fans celebrate the spirit of the season by creating Dunkin-themed costumes and want to reward its dedicated fans. Fans who post a photo of their Dunkin’-inspired costumes to Instagram using the hashtag #DunkinDressUpContest have the chance to win $1,000 and a year’s worth of Dunkin’ coffee. Mickey's Creates Spicy Spooky Cheeto Pizza
To celebrate Halloween, Mickey’s Deli has created a Spicy Spooky Cheeto Pizza featuring Flamin’ Hot Cheetos and an eerie black crust. After debuting a giant 20-inch slice of pizza, the company decided to create something a little crazier this year.
You might think the pizza looks a little burnt, but the black hue of the crust comes from kneading activated charcoal into the dough. After adding sauce and cheese, the pizza is topped with Flamin’ Hot Cheetos to add a bit of spice to every bite.
This Spicy Spooky Cheeto Pizza only comes in a size large and is served throughout the month of October.
Burger King’s Nightmare-Inducing Halloween Sandwich
For those who are brave enough or just want a good scare, Burger King has a haunting new burger to try this Halloween. The Nightmare King is a spooky sandwich featuring a quarter pound of savory flame-grilled beef, a 100 percent white meat crispy chicken fillet, melted American cheese, thick cut bacon, creamy mayonnaise, and onions all assembled on a glazed green sesame seed bun.
And this creepy new burger might even cause nightmares.
In a study done in partnership with Burger King and the Paramount Trials and Florida Sleep & Neuro Diagnostic Services, Inc. and Goldforest Inc., the Burger King brand conducted a scientific study over 10 nights with 100 participants (or should we say victims?) who ate the Nightmare King before they went to bed.
“Someone... transformed into the figure of a snake,” reported one of the study’s subjects when asked about her dream. Another recalled “aliens attacking” the boat he was on.
“According to previous studies, four percent of the population experiences nightmares in any given night,” says Dr. Jose Gabriel Medina, a specialized somnologist and the study’s lead doctor. “But, after eating the Nightmare King, the data obtained from the study indicated that the incidence of nightmares increased by three and a half times.”
The Nightmare King will be available in participating Burger King restaurants for a limited time beginning October 22 at a recommended price of $6.39. Postmates will offer the Nightmare King from October 22 through October 25 with free delivery when using promo code ‘SCARYGOOD.’
