It isn’t all that often, but whenever Chick-fil-A launches a new menu item it typically provides this caveat: A national launch will be determined by customer feedback. Here’s one pilot that passed the test.
In a story posted to its site, Chick-fil-A announced as of May 31 that its White Tea Peach Lemonade is hitting menus across the country. The item is a combination of Chick-fil-A’s staple lemonade and freshly brewed unsweetened iced tea, blended with natural white peach flavor. The white peach flavor offers the sweetness of peaches, but without the tartness found in yellow peaches.
“Customers often order half-tea and half-lemonade at our restaurants, so this summer, we officially added the refreshing combination to our menu nationwide,” Amanda Norris, senior director of menu development for Chick-fil-A, said in the story.
Chick-fil-A added that it’s tapping into a growing trend with the move—flavored teas and flavored lemonades, which are increasing in popularity.
White Peach Tea Lemonade starts at $1.89 for a small and $2.09 for a large. A small (16-ounce) White Peach Tea Lemonade has 160 calories when made with regular Lemonade and 90 calories when made with Diet Lemonade. A large (20-ounce) White Peach Tea Lemonade has 200 calories when made with regular Lemonade and 120 calories when made with Diet Lemonade.
The product was tested in South Carolina last spring. It was tried alongside the Peach Milkshake, which Chick-fil-A said would be discontinued at the end of August.
The brand also said in May it was testing Chick-n-Sliders—made with Chick-fil-A’s signature chicken filet served on a warm roll and topped with honey butter spread—in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Albuquerque, New Mexico. It was also piloting breakfast favorite Chick-n-Minis all day in Tampa, Florida; Little Rock, Arkansas, and Indianapolis.
