The Chickery, the Toronto-based better chicken chain with locations in Toronto and Washington, D.C., has signed on a new franchise partner for 15 units in Northern California. The partner group is deeply rooted in the restaurant industry, with years of experience as operating partners for other franchised concepts.

The Chickery’s original location in Toronto was founded by celebrity chef David Adjey, and is his version of chef-driven fast casual ‘better chicken’, with a focus on real ingredients and better quality.

“I for one am very excited to be working with an experienced set of franchise operators in California,” Adjey says. “Northern California will be a great fit for The Chickery, and the new franchisees are great partners who are dedicated to maintaining the integrity of our brand.”

The Chickery has partnered with Fransmart, the franchise development company behind the explosive growth of restaurant brands like Five Guys Burgers and Fries and Qdoba Mexican Grill, to launch its expansion efforts.

The franchisees are also excited to bring The Chickery to Northern California, as well as for the opportunity to work with Adjey and the franchising experts at Fransmart.

“We truly believe our customers won’t be able to get enough once they have experienced the ‘best chicken and sides’ they have ever tasted, all of which we attribute to the very best ingredients available and David’s genius,” says a spokesperson for the partners.
