Florida-based Wok Chi is expanding to New York City, bringing its fast-casual Asian stir-fry concept and fresh dim sum to Midtown East. This is the brand’s second location, with additional expansions planned for New York City, Florida, and Dubai in 2016 and 2017. Wok Chi defies Chinese take-out misconceptions with its healthful and flavorful stir-fry classics, clean ingredients, fresh dim sum, and desserts—promising “no batter, just what matters,” and bringing good energy (“Chi”) and a great experience to its guests.

The 1,060 square foot, 15-seat restaurant offers a lively and inviting atmosphere complete with custom made “Wok” light fixtures, red and white tile, and bamboo accents. Guests can craft their own bowls of Asian stir-fry classics by picking from a variety of all-natural hormone-free proteins, fresh seasonal vegetables, sauces and bases (white/brown rice, quinoa, egg noodles, whole wheat noodles).

Each bowl is made-to-order by “Wok Masters” in the restaurant’s open kitchen. Protein selections include chicken, pork, beef, shrimp, tofu, and veggies—while sauce options include Kung Pao, BBQ Black Bean, General Not-So-Tos’s and Ginger Sesame, among others. Wok Chi also offers a “Chi of the Day,” a daily rotating special that on-the-go guests can pick up and take out right away. A selection of fresh made dim sum include unique to New York items such as Spicy Shrimp/Avocado Summer Rolls; Duck Confit Spring Rolls; Kale and Spinach Jiaozi; fresh and hearty salads, and sweet signatures like the Warm Coconut Custard Chi-Bon. Additional flavor enhancing condiments such as Sriracha, Hoisin, Plum, Soy, Hot Mustard, and Sweet Chili are included with all meals.

To celebrate the grand opening, Wok Chi will be offering $5 bowls from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, with all proceeds benefiting the Food Bank of New York City.

Wok Chi is located at 918 3rd Avenue, between 55th and 56th Streets, in New York City.
