Fast casual gourmet burger concept Freakin’ Unbelievable Burgers signed its first franchise agreement just four years after the brand’s inception. The franchise location will open in Louisville, Kentucky November 21.  The location also marks the first mall unit for Freakin’ Unbelievable Burgers and a continued Southeastern expansion.

The Louisville store will be located inside Mall St. Matthews, but will serve Freakin’s full menu of more than a dozen gourmet 100 percent certified angus burgers, including multiple protein and vegetarian options, 40-plus toppings to “B.Y.O.F.B.” (build your own Freakin’ burger) salads, hand-battered chicken tenders, frozen custard and more.

“We’re excited about this location not just because it’s the first franchise, but because we think this will be a great example of how versatile the Freakin’ Unbelievable Burgers brand will be,” says president and founder Brent Skaggs.  “This concept easily adapts to free standing locations, strip center units and concession style store fronts for malls, airports and other large venues.”

Freakin’ Unbelievable Burgers opened a corporate location in nearby Lexington, Kentucky in June of 2015 and is currently seeking franchise development agreements for Lexington, the greater Louisville and Cincinnati areas.  “With the franchise support system we have in place, we see a rapid growth in store for Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan and Indiana,” Skaggs says.

Freakin’ Unbelievable Burgers is owned by Freakin’ Brands, LLC.
