Known for igniting the fast-casual salad restaurant category, California’s Mixt is expanding with its ninth location opening on Wednesday, April 19 at 51 Yerba Buena Lane in San Francisco.

The Yerba Buena location will feature Mixt’s first venture beyond salads and grain bowls with the introduction of Mixt Market Plates. These seasonal, chef-created combinations will feature herb-roasted and grilled sustainable meats paired with savory signature sauces and a choice of warm side dishes that change with the seasons.

“Market Plates were a natural extension of what Mixt offers every day: healthy, sustainable, easy, and delicious food for people on the go,” says executive chef and cofounder Andrew Swallow. “Market Plates have the Mixt DNA reimagined for dinner or when our guests are craving something warm and hearty.”

Diners will have a choice between herb-roasted, free-range chicken, grilled grass-fed flat iron steak, or grilled Columbia river steelhead paired with a house-made sauce such as chimichurri or miso ginger glaze and two seasonal side dishes such as grilled asparagus with a caper spring onion aïoli and toasted breadcrumbs. Prices range from $10.95 for a vegetarian Market Plate to $13.95 for the fish option.

Market Plates, and an assortment of local beer, wine and kombucha on tap, will only be available at Mixt Yerba Buena with a rollout to other locations planned for later this year. Located in one of the busiest shopping and tourist areas in downtown San Francisco, Mixt Yerba Buena is poised to attract visitors seeking healthy dining options.

“We’re excited to open our doors in such a heavily trafficked area of busy workers and shoppers alike,” says Mixt CEO Leslie Silverglide. “We’re on a mission to bring delicious, sustainable and seasonal food to as many people as possible and Mixt is proud to debut our latest expression of fresh, healthful, whole foods in the Yerba Buena neighborhood.”

Opening Mixt’s ninth location is the latest in a series of growth moves as it enters its second decade of business. Mixt recently rolled out an expansion of its online ordering options at every location and announced plans to open in San Francisco’s Cow Hollow district later this year.

Mixt Yerba Buena will be open for lunch and dinner, Monday through Friday 10:30 a.m.–8:30 p.m. and on weekends from 11 a.m.– 8:30 p.m.
