Captain D’s, a leading fast casual seafood restaurant, announced its newest location in Zachary, Louisiana, is officially open. Located at 5353 Main Street, the restaurant is 2,800 square feet, with drive-thru, and showcases the brand’s most recent beach design. The new restaurant has created 20—25 jobs in the Zachary community.

Marking the brand’s first location in the Baton Rouge area, the Zachary restaurant is corporately owned and kicks off Captain D’s aggressive development plans for the region. The company currently has two locations under construction in Baton Rouge and Denham Springs, as well as an additional location in Hammond that is slated to open in the fall.

“At Captain D’s, we invest our company capital in new company stores, precisely like our franchisees invest their capital in new locations. Fueled by the strength of our business model, our expansion in Louisiana is a direct reflection of our brand’s compounding success and unlimited potential,” says Michael Arrowsmith, chief development officer for Captain D’s. “Over the course of this year, we’ll be opening new restaurants throughout the region as we continue growing Captain D’s presence in Louisiana.”

The opening of the new restaurant in Zachary comes on the heels of the outstanding success Captain D’s experienced in 2016, achieving its sixth consecutive year of same store sales increases and fourth successive year of record high system-wide AUV. In addition to its corporate growth in Louisiana, this ongoing success has propelled Captain D’s franchise expansion, with agreements signed to open an additional 25 new restaurants this year in states across the country including Florida, South Carolina, Texas, Georgia, Illinois, Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas, and Virginia.

Coupled with its ongoing menu innovation, Captain D’s credits its new restaurant beach design with contributing to the brand’s compounding success. To date, nearly 60 percent of all restaurants have been reimaged to the brand’s new vibrant, coastal design, with another 50 locations to be remodeled by the end of this year. With these efforts, Captain D’s has remained true to what it does best — serving high-quality seafood with warm hospitality at an affordable price in a welcoming atmosphere.

With 516 restaurants in 21 states, Captain D’s is the fast-casual seafood leader and number one seafood franchise in America ranked by average unit volume. The company is currently seeking single- and multi-unit operators to join in the brand’s rapid expansion.
