Every year during Breast Cancer Awareness month, Pizza Guys proudly wears pink. When you walk into any Pizza Guys location during the month of October, you see stores decked out in pink decorations, employees in pink uniforms, large pizzas served in pink boxes, and wings served in pink containers. President and CEO Shahpour Nejad says, “I am sure we all know someone who has been affected by cancer—a mother, a sister, a friend, or a neighbor. That is why the Slice of Hope campaign was started in 2014. We wanted to promote awareness, empower women to share their stories, and raise money to fund research for breast cancer.”

Pizza Guys have been actively involved with supporting American Cancer Society for the past four years. This year, the company was able raise $50,000 which will go towards breast cancer research, support programs and education.

During the Slice of Hope campaign, one dollar is donated for every Slice of Hope deal sold. In addition, Pizza Guys donates a portion for every large pizza sold. Customers can also donate in store at any Pizza Guys location or online, where 100 percent of the donations goes towards the American Cancer Society. Many Pizza Guys locations got creative and provided giveaways, such as free pizza, free garlic bread, or pink items to every customer who donated.

To further raise breast cancer awareness, many Pizza Guys stores participated in the Making Strides Walks throughout California. Mike Morgan, vice president of operations says, “It is more than just raising money to us. We have customers, family members, employees who have been affected by cancer. We walk to let them know they are not alone. We are fighting hard with them.” In Sacramento, Pizza Guys was the presenting sponsor for Making Strides. At the event, Shahpour Nejad got the opportunity to express his gratitude and present a check of $50,000.

Pizza Guys hopes their participation during the Breast Cancer Awareness month will inspire and resonate with those who have been touched by cancer. Its commitment to the cause is unwavering, and the company looks forward to exceeding its goal next year.
