Along with partners Ben and Eric Kusin, TJ’s Seafood Market & Grill owner Jon Alexis will open the first Malibu Poke on Tuesday, November 28 in Turtle Creek Village.

With award-winning quality and freshness, as well as a tech-savvy take on the nation’s fastest growing quick service category, the team tapped Chef Matt McCallister to create a menu that combines classic poke with bold flavors.

“Even though Malibu is a quick–serve concept, we will offer expertly sourced and handled seafood. Quite simply, it’s a better bowl of poke, the fishmonger’s poke. Our emphasis is on freshness, nutrition, and sustainability,” Alexis says. “Matt’s menu clearly differentiates us from Dallas’ other poke. And we will utilize cutting edge self-ordering tech to minimize lines and deliver the freshest bowls.”

“Malibu Poke has become so much more than we originally envisioned. With creative input from Matt and my super passionate partners, we have created something truly unique,” he says.

Alexis and McCallister’s menu will feature TJ’s quality seafood, scratch sauces and fresh vegetables, fruits and  herbs. Ingredients will be sourced from local farms whenever possible. Malibu’s emphasis on ingredients permeates every detail down to the highest quality soy sauce.

Guests can enjoy “classic” poke bowls or try flavors such as smoked bonito aioli, yellow curry, Japanese sancho pepper, and more. Guests can also build their own bowls.

The new concept will emphasize healthy eating with 100 percent gluten free, vegan options, alongside a beverage program including craft beers, wine on tap, sake, kombucha, teas, fresh juices, and more.

Malibu Poke will feature a tech-based ordering system designed to minimize wait times, educate guests on ingredients, and make customized bowls easier.  Self–serve kiosks even allow guests to choose facial recognition features that remember their order history. For guests that prefer a human touch, a Malibu “Poke-Pro” will always be on-hand to guide guests through the ordering process.

Malibu Poke was inspired by the casual beach chic of its namesake city. The restaurant, designed by award-winning designer Hatsumi Kuzuu, combines effortless elegance with California-casual in both the dining room and spacious patio.
