Snappy Salads, the paper straw–loving, nutrition-focused restaurant, opened a second Houston-area location November 16, in the Katy Green Phase III development located at I-10 and Baker Road. Snappy Salads currently has 15 locations in Texas.

Snappy Salads has proven that, in the land of barbecue and fried chicken, offering entrée-sized salads using honest ingredients can win over even the most salad-averse people. The award-winning restaurant upends the typical ratio of protein to vegetables to create unique, hearty, and delicious meals that are nutritionally sound. Guests can select menu favorites, such as the best-selling Grilled Avocado Salad with Chipotle Lime Vinaigrette, the new Riced Cauliflower Salad, or the nutrient-dense Bam Bam salad. Lettuce is fresh-cut, dressings are made in-house, and soups are crafted from scratch.

“With the success of our first location near the Galleria, we knew that we needed to open more locations in Houston,” says CEO Chris Dahlander.

The 2,300-square-foot Katy location continues Snappy Salads’ eco-friendly initiatives. Long communal tables are made from reclaimed wood, lighting is energy-efficient, takeout containers and utensils are biodegradable, cups are made from corn, and straws are made from paper. Menus are printed on recycled paper and guests can recycle batteries and CFLs (Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs) free of charge.
