Taco Cabana continues to set a bold pace for its 2018 Strategic Renewal Plan with its latest commitment to customers: to completely eliminate the use of antibiotics from all chicken on its menu. As of May 14, Taco Cabana fulfilled this promise, by fully integrating the “No Antibiotics Ever” (NAE) program to 100-percent of its chicken products at all Texas locations.

“In our Strategic Renewal Plan, we made the commitment to improve all aspects of our business,” says Richard Stockinger, president and CEO of Fiesta Restaurant Group, Inc. “NAE chicken is another promise kept.”

NAE chicken provides assurance that no antibiotics were ever introduced through feed, water sources or any other means during the life of the bird. To ensure this, Taco Cabana’s chicken producers are only those approved and certified as “USDA Process Verified for NO Antibiotics Ever” by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). “Each and every day, we strive to maintain our community’s faith in the quality and safety of our products. We are confident that being a proactive adopter of the NAE chicken program helps achieve that,” adds Stockinger.

Taco Cabana is also adding some extra sizzle to its menu this summer, with the release of its new USDA Choice Flame-Grilled Steak Fajita Tacos, now available at all locations. “This year, we started a journey to reinvigorate the Taco Cabana brand with the launch of our Strategic Renewal Plan,” says Chuck Locke, president of Taco Cabana. “Introducing USDA Choice steak to our line of ingredients has been a key improvement, and we’re excited for guests to fall in love with our steak products all over again.”

Taco Cabana’s new USDA Choice inside skirt steak is marinated with an enhancement of the original TC marinade and seasoning blend, and flame-grilled to deliver an authentic smoky flavor.

Available in three delicious taco recipes, guests can purchase their favorite steak fajita taco for $3.29 each or mix-and-match any two tacos for $6.49:

  • Roasted Poblanos, Ranchero & Cheese

In addition, Taco Cabana will be adding three new recipes to its line of Loaded Grilled Shrimp Tacos this summer, which have become a fan favorite since their debut in February:

Just in time for summer, Margarita Mondays have also launched at Taco Cabana, with $3 margaritas all day long every Monday. Guests will be able to enjoy a rotating selection of seasonal margaritas all summer long, along with new shareable Happy Hour food items, such as TC’s Kick-Ass Nachos (tortilla chips topped with refried beans, ground beef, queso, guacamole, pico de gallo, fresh jalapeños and a drizzle of sour cream) and The Trio (six chicken flautas, one small quesadilla, and a small order of chips served with a side of shredded lettuce, queso, guacamole and sour cream).
