City Barbeque is joining Pelotonia to raise funds for cancer research: the fast casual’s central Ohio locations will donate $1 from every large drink sold during the month of July to Pelotonia. Guests who purchase a large drink from any of City Barbeque’s eight Columbus-area locations will accelerate life-saving cancer research and will receive a limited-edition co-branded keepsake cup as well.

Not only will City Barbeque’s guests be able to contribute to the cause, its teammates will as well. The company will be sponsoring four cyclists, who will ride in City Barbeque jerseys: Eric Pedersen (from the Westerville location), Mikey Ray (Gahanna), Ryan Metger (Powell), and virtual rider Brian Hipsher (from City Barbeque’s marketing department). Pelotonia weekend and its signature ride will take place August 3–5, 2018.

Pelotonia, established in 2008, was established to fund life-saving cancer research; 100 percent of every rider-raised dollar is directed to cancer research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute. As of June 2018, Pelotonia has raised $162 million in cancer research funding.
