800 Degrees Woodfired Kitchen, known for its unique and innovative approach to the art of cooking with fire, pairing fine ingredients and gourmet woodfired dishes to create an approachable fine dining experience, is now open in the Big Apple.

Originally founded in Los Angeles in 2011 by Chef Anthony Carron, the restaurant’s New York location will be managed by Operating Partner Mario Zeniou, formerly the VP of operations and Maître d’ of Midtown stalwart Estiatorio Milos, where he oversaw the business for over 15 years. NBA superstar Dwyane Wade serves as global partner of the brand.

The philosophy of 800 Degrees Woodfired Kitchen starts with the purest ingredients – scratch dough, fresh produce and artisan-quality meats and cheeses, sourced from top purveyors across the tri-state, then put into specially designed woodfired stone hearth pizza ovens and woodfired rotisseries that burn fragrant woods, imparting a unique, subtle, smoky taste to anything cooked within them. To amp up the menu offerings for the New York market, Zeniou is sourcing from top vendors he’s built relationships with, including Blue Ribbon for its wild tuna, Pat LaFrieda for dishes such as its prime rib and chicken and is partnering with small, local farms on Long Island for its vegetables.

Signature dishes include the lunch-only Power Bowls served with quinoa tabbouleh, kale, cucumber, avocado, cherry tomatoes & corn, lemon-tahini sauce with your choice of protein. Additional specialties include the Creekstone Farms Prime Rib with horseradish cream and a Black Tie Pizza with Pata Negra Iberico Jamon and black truffle burrata. An homage to New York, 800 Degrees Woodfired Kitchen will also feature a Salmon Pastrami Pizza with everything spice crust, creme fraiche, red onions, capers, dill and rye seasoning.

During the day, 800 Degrees Woodfired Kitchen will provide counter service ordering for a bounty of salads, Power Bowls with fresh ingredients, a carving station for the rotisserie smoked meats and fish or made-to-order pizzas perfect for a light lunch. By night, the front counter will transform into a massive open kitchen, where guests can watch as chefs prepare every aspect of their meal.

“We’re excited to share our 800 Degrees Pizza heritage and legacy with Manhattan and continue to provide the superior level of ingredients and technique that people have come to know and love, and carry that over into our expanded menu,” says Chef Carron.

A full bar complements the experience with Italian, French and American wines, along with cocktails designed to complement the woodfired food including the Spagliato with campari, cocchi di Torino and prosecco; Smoky LiberTea with apple & cinnamon infused bourbon, smoked maple syrup, ice tea and lemon or the Heat-Blast Margarita with Casa Noble tequila, Stones Ginger Wine, passion fruit, lime and jalapeño.

The 5,200-square-foot space seats 135 for an intimate dining experience with a variety of banquette and wooden seats with plum leather seat cushions.  A grandiose L-shaped marble counter and eye-catching marble bar featuring wooden accents are surrounded by plum leather high-top chairs.
