In honor of Teacher Appreciation Day on May 7, Nando’s PERi-PERi will offer teachers free flame-grilled chicken at all 42 U.S. restaurants.
Any teacher, educator or school employee with a valid school ID is entitled to a free ¼ chicken entrée, at Nando’s in Washington, Chicago, Baltimore, Annapolis and all other locations. The promotion is valid from opening (11 a.m.) to closing on May 7. No purchase necessary; sides sold separately.
“Teachers work hard and deserve some extra credit on Teacher Appreciation Day,” says John Fisher, CEO of Nando’s PERi-PERi USA. “This is our small way of thanking them for their hard work every day.”
PERi-PERi, or African Bird’s Eye Chili, is the heart and soul of the Nando’s experience. The South African restaurant known worldwide for its spicy flame-grilled chicken, Nando’s has built an intensely loyal following by providing fresh food in a relaxed atmosphere with friendly service. “We marinate our chicken in PERi-PERi for at least 24 hours, so the flavor goes right through to the bone,” Fisher added. “Then we grill it over an open flame and baste it with PERi-PERi sauce to our customers’ preferred spice.”
The first Nando’s restaurant opened its doors in 1987 in Johannesburg, South Africa. Since then, the Nando’s flame has spread to 24 countries on five continents. Nando’s PERi-PERi operates 42 restaurants in and around Washington, DC, Baltimore and Chicago.
