Postmates announced that it has teamed up with Square, Inc. to provide on-demand delivery capabilities to Square’s small business sellers. For the first time ever, all Square sellers have the ability to offer deliveries that can easily be scheduled and tracked with this new Postmates integration.

“By partnering with Square to offer on-demand delivery, millions of small, local businesses are now able to do something that was not previously available,” says James Butts, SVP, Product, Postmates. “With access to an active fleet of over 300K Postmates, local sellers can deliver entirely new experiences to their customers—without the need to hire a developer—while focusing on what they do best, growing their business.”

With the new Postmates Delivery as a Service integration, restaurants and retailers can add on-demand delivery to any transaction with just a touch of a button –  no technical experience is required. By adding a delivery offering, businesses can:

  • Drive more revenue
  • Increase their reach
  • Order and schedule future deliveries

To begin, Square sellers can locate Postmates in the Square Marketplace or on the Postmates website. No setup fees or contracts are required and a promotional offer of two weeks free delivery will be applied for new users.

Postmates introduced Delivery as a Service in 2014, which allows businesses of all sizes to directly integrate and leverage Postmates delivery platform from their own app or website. Postmates recently announced it had expanded to a thousand additional cities, bringing the city total to more than 3,500 in the US, that’s over 70% of US households.
