Potbelly Sandwich Shop has opened two franchise shops in Virginia, one in Charlottesville and one in Richmond. The new locations join the 25 others in the state.

Potbelly shops have earned a reputation across the United States for having delicious food and fun décor, especially within bustling Virginia communities such as Charlottesville and Richmond. David Duke and Jay Clark, the owners of the new shops, have a combined 35 years of restaurant industry experience. In addition to their new shops, they also own another Potbelly Sandwich Shop in the Richmond area.

“We’re thrilled to open new locations in Charlottesville and Richmond,” says Duke. “It is an honor to bring good vibes and great sandwiches to folks. We know they’ll love our tasty sandwiches, salads, shakes, cookies and more.”

“David and Jay’s passion for what makes Potbelly so unique is truly inspiring,” adds Jeff Welch, Senior Vice President of Development for Potbelly. “We are so excited for them to expand the Potbelly brand and we’re confident the shops will quickly become local favorites.”

Hours of operation at the new Richmond shop are 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Sundays, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

The new Charlottesville location will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday, 7:00 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays when University of Virginia classes are in session.

The new franchise shops mark continued franchise growth for the brand and join the more than 450 corporate and franchise Potbelly shops in the United States. In 2019, franchise shops have also opened in Odessa, Texas, Charlotte, N.C and Rochester, Minn. The brand plans to continue franchise growth in 2019 and is seeking experienced multi-unit operators who have the drive to grow a great business opportunity.
